Pixel Shader in Tyria?
For those who don't know, Nightfall introduced a new graphics feature into the game called the Pixel Shader. You can adjust the shader setting's in Options > Graphics > Shader Quality.
Well, the thing was, the new shader capabilities was only for areas in Elona. However, I was just exploring Dragon's Gullet today and realized that my characters had the Pixel Shader effect on them. I'll get a screeny and post it here once I'm done exploring it all.
Was this from today's update? I thought it was just getting ready for the HA weekend, but maybe they slid something else in there. I'm going to go to other locations and see if the shader effect was added elsewhere too.

Factions already used Shaders, just not with the high amount Nightfall does. Having updated Tyria doesn't sound unrealistic for they are overworking the sound system right now.

That doesn't look like pixel shaders to me. Pixel shaders basically trick you into seeing relief or some sort of shape on a flat surface. A good example would be water ripples in morrowind, or those intricate skin and armor details on unreal tournament 3 characters or any sort of stone wall surface in oblivion.

Cool it's about time Tyria got to have some fancy lighting and other nice effect, didn't upgrade my pc for nothing. Oh! wait a sec, does this mean minimum system spec for CH1 just got higher? Wonder what will happen to those with slow pc?

Believe it or not, someday the 1st Ascalon mission bugged for me in some way that showed that Nightfall "effects" all the mission, even noted less frames per second. I think I have screenshots. The "bug" happened to me when going to Kamadan and returning too fast to LA then to the mission, with the hard disk reading a lot of background things (completing downloaded things + anti-virus)

A pixel-shader update would be so cool...It would keep me
satisfied until GW2 and EOTN.
I'm gonna look around, as well.

* Added lip-syncing to all cinematic sequences in the Factions campaign.

I guess the shaders are Nightfall and Factions only (and yes, it's been around for a while now).
I see no difference in Tyria with them.

Do you mean the lighting on the characters going to per pixel? That happened a looong time ago.
The thing is there's not lighting in the game of the same nature, so you don't see the effects on the character usually.

It's not new.

They added some DX9 extensions to the shader programming.

There's several characters that don't move their lips. The NPCs in the cutscene at Gyala Hatchery come to mind.
